Blaze’s Page

My name is Blaze. I am a purebred boxer. My birthday is Aug. 21, 2009.

If you look at my picture, you can see how I got my name….I have a white blaze down the middle of my face. My human mom & dad got me through Florida Boxer Rescue when I was 2 years old. I love kids, and so they took me to classes to be a therapy dog, and then a READing dog. I love meeting new people and animals; in fact, I just plain love life! I am a very happy dog!

I have an older sister “Whinny” who is a Jack Russell Terrier (she has a LOT of energy…whew!). I have an older brother “Jack Black” who is a rescued pug. I also have a younger sister “Puglet” who is, you guessed it, a pug as well. They both came from Pug Rescue of Florida. We all get along really well. We live on a small farm with two barn cats (who terrorize us on the other side of the fence), 2 horses, 2 donkeys, and chickens.

Besides taking naps, my favorite thing to do is give kisses. I have a very wide tongue, so my kisses cover a lot of area. I also love running and playing and chasing balls. I especially like to help play water volleyball and stand on the deck waiting for a ball to be hit my way! Boxers like to use their front paws to “box” at things, and so you have to be careful if you get me all excited as I can jump and spin and grab your leg. But my human mom has taught me manners, and so you won’t see me doing those things when I am working as a therapy dog.

I work at Eustis Public Library as a READing dog along with my friend Mandy. We also visit hospitals and nursing homes.

I like to write emails, too. You can email me at

Have a great day!!!
