Cleo’s Page

Hey, kids!  My name is Cleopatra but my closest friends call me “Cleo”.

I was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 14, 2009 on a Greyhound puppy farm to Greyhound parents.  I began working at a very young age as a racer chasing pretend electric rabbits.  Once my boss thought that I was ready, I was able to retire and be adopted by a great new pack.  Along with my great adopted parents, I have two kitty brothers, Kodiak, who’s a Siamese cat, and Maximus Troy Smith, who looks like one of the Chick-fil-a cows.  Do you have any brothers or sisters?

I may be retired but sometimes I still like to pretend that I’m on the track by running in a big circle really fast in my back yard.  I run so fast that my adoptive mom gets dizzy watching me.  My favorite days to run are the rainy ones.  Those were the days that I ran my fastest at the track so they called me a “mudder”.  I used to make such a mess of myself ending up all muddy.  It was great!

Along with making people dizzy with my speed, I enjoy visiting patients in the nursing home.  They make me feel so good when they pet me and tell me how sweet and beautiful I am.   I also like relaxing, reading, and napping.  It would be great to have you stop by and read to me sometime.  You can email me at Cleo@READingPaws.org and I will e-mail you back.   See you soon!

I am tan with black stripes.  Some kids think that I look like a tiger.  What do you think?
