Woof woof woof!

Hi – my name is Echo and I’m a very special little beagle - I was a Christmas present to my mom from her nephew – I was a little surprise wrapped up in a big box!!

Having just said goodbye to her other beagle, my mom was very sad.  On Christmas Eve, her nephew handed her a big wrapped box and when I poked my head out of the box she was so happy that she cried!  That was my very first animal therapy job - helping mom feel happy and if you ask her, she’ll tell you I’m still doing a great job!

I started doing animal assisted therapy with other people when I was 9 months old.  I visit all kinds of people, the elderly, people who are sick and children in schools and libraries.  This year I started READing Paws and I love hearing all the kids read their favorite stories to me!  My favorite stories are about other dogs!  Do you have a favorite story that you would like to read to me?

Sometimes I get to go to work with my mom.  She takes care of other people’s animals and many of them are my friends.  I get to go for rides in the car, play with my friends and walk in different neighborhoods.  I even get to taste all the different treats my friends have at their houses!  Do you get to go to your friends’ houses very often?  What do you do when you’re there?

My mom and I also play “dog agility”.  It’s a giant obstacle course made just for dogs!  I love running and jumping on the furniture so she thought it might better for me to run and jump on stuff in a safe place and she was right – it’s very fun!    Do you play any sports or have a favorite game you like to play?

No matter what we do all day, at the end of the day I cuddle up with my mom for bedtime.  She laughs at me because I start out curled up and small but by the middle of the night I stretch out and take up the whole bed!

I’d love for you to email me (my birthday is November 3 and I’d love to get birthday email!).  I promise I’ll write back!
