Woof Woof!

Hi, My name is Elliott.  I am a Black Labrador Retriever, around 3 years old.  I was adopted in June of 2011 from the Atlanta Dog Squad.  I don’t remember much about my life before that, but since then I have been busy, busy, busy.  I go to work everyday with Mom.  She works at a horse barn.  I help her exercise and take care of the horses.  She lets me ride in the Gator, which makes everyone smile.  I love to go on trail rides and then jump in the big water troughs to cool off.  I get to run all day!  When I’m not at work, I love to play fetch.  Mom and Dad say I’m obsessed with the tennis ball.  I could play fetch ALL day!  I also love to swim and if I can play fetch in the water, why then my day is just perfect!

My Mom and Dad said that since I was no good as a watch dog, I had to find some other kind of  job.  I decided to become a therapy dog. I had to take a class and a test and now I am a registered therapy dog with Therapy Dogs, Inc.  I go to Laurel Creek assisted living every Friday and visit with all the residents.  They all tell me how handsome I am.  I show off by doing some tricks and they give me treats and lots of hugs. It’s a great job!  I also enjoy being around young people, so I took on another job – as a READing Paws dog.  I just love it!  I especially love when the reader lets me put my head in his or her lap and reads me a story about animals.  And if they rub my ears….ahhhhhh……bliss.

I live in Canton with Mom and Dad, two cats, two horses and whatever Atlanta Dog Squad foster dogs happen to be here waiting for their forever home.  I am a big help in training them to be good dogs so they can get adopted.  I love to get mail, so if you want to email me, please do!  Elliott@READingPaws.org

Happy READing!
