Hi everyone!

My name is Sophie and I am a small Cocker Spaniel. I was rescued from an animal shelter by a very nice lady who just KNEW I would love kids!  It turned out that she knows my new mommy, and took me to meet her.  It was love at first sight!  I love my new family so much.  They have lots of company all the time, so I get to see new people and sometimes even kids!  My mommy walks me every day and gives me treats when I am good (which is most of the time).  She could tell right away that I might be a good reader so she enrolled me in the READ program.  I practice all the time with the kids that stop by our house.  I have a job now that is LOTS of fun!  I visit nursing homes and the school for the Head Start Program.  My mommy reads a book to all the children in the class and I get to sit beside her right in the middle of all the kids.  It is great!  They keep calling me a Therapy dog, but I don’t know what that means.  All I know is that I make lots of people smile, and that’s what I really want to do. I am getting better at reading, but sometimes I need help.  Will you please read to me at the Lumpkin County Library? We are there on the first Saturday of every month, as long as the Library is open.  You can also e-mail me if your parents say it’s ok. Sophie_G@READingPaws.org
